White risers are a beautiful and economical addition to any staircase. They are especially popular in homes with other white trim and molding. White risers are also a great way to lighten a dark staircase or provide definition between steps.
When ordering risers, you'll typically order the same length as the tread. These retro risers are designed to reface an existing riser while being thin enough not to offset your new retro treads past any existing skirtboard.
Our white retro risers are shipped with an anti-scuff laminate on the surface and are ready to install. Standard riser dimensions are 1/4" nominal (3/16" actual) thick by 7-3/4" tall by 60" long.
Product Note: There may be some minor chipping of the white coating which occurs during transit. This is normal and is intended to be trimmed during installation since the risers are oversized for most applications.
Installation Note: Latex paint will not adhere to the coating on the retro risers - if painting the retro risers, additional prep work will be required.
These risers are designed to be used with our Retro stair treads as part of the complete staircase remodeling system
The White Retro Riser 60 in is built for wide custom staircases — grand entries, open-plan layouts, and larger custom residential staircases where standard 42-inch risers are too narrow. Same pre-primed white finish and retro install method as all WoodStairCo white retro risers.
At $24.59, this is still an affordable option for wider renovations. Installs over your existing riser using adhesive and a brad nailer — no removal, no demo. One coat of white semi-gloss paint and the widest risers in your renovation are done.

INSTALLATION NOTE
Two-person installation recommended for 60-inch risers. Apply Loctite PL Premium adhesive in full S-curve coverage across the 60-inch back face. Press firmly and evenly. Secure with brad nailer at 6-inch intervals across the full width. Apply white semi-gloss paint. Caulk riser-tread joint.
STAIN / FINISH TIP
Use a small foam roller for an even coat on wider risers — a brush can leave streak marks on a 60-inch surface. White semi-gloss latex over the factory primer. Two people make alignment much easier on the wider sizes.
